THE WORLD FAMOUS EMERALD COAST
A "must trip" to the land of the VIPs: a paradise of remarkable villas and prestigious meeting places, in contrast with the natural landscape and crystalline waters. The visit begins with a stop in Baja Sardinia and its characteristic little square with its numerous and friendly hotels, bars and shops. Next stop is Poltu Quatu (meaning "hidden port"), where a port for pleasure boats was built in an inlet of particular rock formation in 1987. And finally, the trendy town of Porto Cervo, where the elite congregate.
ARCHAEOLOGIC SITE OF ARZACHENA
The town of Arzachena has a very old history as can be seen in the granite rock "Fungo", thought to have been a shelter during the pre-nuragic age. A few kilometres away is a noteworthy archaeological site containing the nuraghe "Albucciu" and the Tomb of the Giant "Coddu Ecchiu", an ancient burial site of the local population.
TEMPIO PAUSANIA AND MONTE LIMBARA
This is a very interesting nature excursion by air-conditioned Land Rover. It departs from the beautiful Lago di Liscia, a large man-made lake which supplies water to all of Gallura. The point of arrival is the summit of Mount Limbara. This is a region of granite with many species of plants, such as the sequoia and wild rose, and animals including the Sardinian lizard and the royal eagle. Monte Lombara dominates the plain of Tempio Pausania, ancient jurisdiction of Gallura and is rich in monuments, historic centres and ancient churches.
COSTA SMERALDA BY NIGHT
An unforgettable glimpse of how the rich and famous club on Sardinia's elite coast: Baja Sardinia, Porto Cervo and Poltu Quatu seen at night - another image of Sardinia - fascinating and slightly surreal.
TREKKING IN TINNARI
On the way from S. Teresa di Gallura to Castelsardo, the traveller admires the panorama of spectacular beaches. Upon arrival at Costa Paradiso you take a path on rocky terrain leading to Monte Tinnari (214 m.). After climbing to the top, a different route down leads you to the beach of Tinnari, one of the most spectacular in Sardinia - a pebble beach which takes its source at the mouth of the Pirastu River, a wonderfully wild site.
CANOEING IN LISCIA LIKE
An adventurous excursion that winds its way through the lake and its canals and tiny islands. The mostly sandy banks are spotted with diverse vegetation. The trip continues through a patch of oaks and other age-old plants where animals such as woodpigeons and tortoises are encountered. Most impressive are the several thousand-year-old olive trees with their massive trunks.
